Projects...
I've decided I want to have zero social time this summer, so I don't have to deal with annoying high school kids. Now, I already have a lot on my plate as is:
-A full time job
-A part time job(on top of the full time)
-Staying in shape for hockey sophomore year, which includes working out, and practicing once a week for 2 hours.
-Other crap that dwindles my time
Still, I'll have a considerably larger amount of free time than I have here in college. So, I've decided to take on a couple of side projects to occupy the vast remainder of my time.
The main project is going to be a reconstruction of a Late Roman(or Dark Age) Catapult. I've already done a bunch of research on Medieval seige weapons thanks mainly to me being a History major(in other words, I get off to this kind of stuff), and would only have to build the monster.
The more time consuming of the two is that I'm going to make a couple pieces of chain-mail armor. This I have far less knowledge on, since everyone seems to care more about plate armor(and I'm not a blacksmith...so that's not being made). I haven't decided what exactly I'm making yet...but I'm sure it will include either bracers..or if I can make them, gauntlets. Also something to cover the torso.
Anywho, I thought I'd post this(since I haven't seen much of any activity on the site lately) just to give a heads up as to what I'll be doing.
Oh yeah, I'll be posting updates of my work as I start(and hopefully finish) the work, so look forward to that in the summer.
